Training Tips is a guideline to help travelers who are planning to spend holidays in the Himalayas of Nepal.
If you are planning to trek, you should consider certain points that will help you to make your trip wonderful and successful one.
Trekking in the Himalayas is not an act to fear but experiencing stunning walk along the local trail. You do not need to worry about the previous experience of altitude climbing to complete the trek. What you need is to be physically fit to be able to complete the trek and enjoy the journey. A little bit exercise in your daily life could let you a worry free time in the Himalayas. If you have not trained your body to withstand the pressure of constant strain at high altitude, it will be a bit difficult for you to trek. It is not good for your health as well as for the safety of other participants joining with you. Hence, we suggest you to make a habit some sort of intense physical exercise at least three month before your trip. You should starts doing regular exercise with some walking, use stairs walk rather than elevator, and also join some aerobics or gym. Alternatively, you could also engage in cardiovascular training several times a week: cycling, swimming, hiking and lots of walking. Walk on the hills or you can repeatedly walk up and down stairs of a building. It will be really helpful to make you knees strong.
With your Physical Body, your mind should also get prepared. As, your next destination is on the Himalayas of Nepal, it is not compulsory that you will get sophisticated facilities everywhere. You might get such facilities in some places on the Everest and Annapurna, however, most of the lodges will be basic. You will be accommodated in the basic lodges opened by the local with twin/triple bed room and sharing bathroom. The toilet pan will be South Asian style with a hole not a western one. Hence, do not make huge expectations on these facilities. Meantime, you also get an options for showers lower down on the trail, however, many trekkers keep cleaning by using baby wipes and a bowl of warm water each day. What you will get is you can experience the High altitude life under the shadow of mesmerizing mountains and landscape. Hence, prepare yourself with confident, self-stamina and determination to walk in the high altitude along with any risks that might involves.
