Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu transfer to the Hotel

On your arrival in Kathmandu International Airport, one of our representative will pick up you and escort you to the hotel as well as help you to check-in at hotel. After your refreshment, you will be briefed about the next day trip. In the evening, we, the Hiking Nepal will offer you a welcome dinner introducing Nepalese cuisine and culture.

Day 02:    Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding

Get ready with your baggage early in the morning for a short drive to Kathmandu Domestic Airport. You will be accompanied by our guide who will also introduce the group with the porters. Flying for 35 minutes will take you to the exciting Lukla Airport from where you will starts the trek. Enjoy the scenario with a short break with tea/coffee. At this time, our Guide will load all the baggage to the porter. You will take an easy walk passing through local Sherpa villages, crossing through the several suspension bridges, the trail mostly follow the river bank of Dudhkoshi River till reaching to Phakding, where you will be spending your first night in mountain.  Your journey from Lukla to Phakding is short walking of around 3 to 4 hours and remaining time, you can rest at the lodge and enjoy the surrounding, the Sherpa Culture and Himalayan Lifestyle. 

Day 03:    Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

The trek chases the northern trial up the Dudh Kosi valley to Monjo. At Monjo the trek officially enters Sagarmatha National Park where you have to issue Sagarmatha National Park Permit Card. Continuing the trial along the steep uphill climb while savoring the first glimpse of Everest, you will arrive at the hub of Sherpa- Namche Bazaar. Spend overnight at lodge. Namche Bazaar is the gateway to Mt. Everest and the main trading center of Everest region. After tiresome walking all the way from Phakding experiencing the mountain life, take rest with warm sleep at the Mountain Lodge.

Day 04:    Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

Acclimation Day is really a most important day when we believe to stay at certain altitude to let you familiar with the height. On this day, our guide will take you to the nearby hill and return back to the lodge. Today, you can go for a short hike to Khumjung, a beautiful settlement of Hospitable Sherpas. OR, you can roam around the Namche that offers Internet Cafes, restaurants, ATMs, and colorful markets. Even, you can enjoy the traditional living of mountain dwellers that is getting complimentary by the awe-inspiring surrounding and high altitude flora/fauna. Spend overnight at lodge.

Day 05:    Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

After Breakfast, you will need to get ready from next interesting destination- Tengboche. We take a smooth walk along the mountain side and walk down to riverside for lunch. And from here we start walking up gradually through pine forest for 2 more hours to reach Tenboche. On the way, you can grasp the fabulous views of the mountains and the trail decorated with rhododendron bushes even making more interesting with the presence of beautiful birds.  On reaching Tengboche, you will explore a largest monastery of Khumbu from where the Everest Expedition teams receives blessings. The most interesting festival “The Manirimdhu” is held here with great devotion during the month of October/November. Also, capture the awe-inspiring view of the Mt. Ama Dablam and spend overnight at lodge.

Day 06:    Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche

Taking Breakfast, you will descends down along the rhododendron forest to Deboche and crossing a bridge over the raging Imja (Khola) River. Decorated with the mani-walls, you will cross the plains towards Pangboche Village- an important Sherpa village of Khumbu probably the biggest settlement village in the Highland. Experience the typical Sherpa lifestyle, culture and traditions. Here, you can also visit the Pangboche Monastery- an oldest monastery of Sherpa land. Spending some valuable time, you will be walking toward the Dingboche, where you will spend overnight.

Day 07:    Rest Day in Dingboche

After walking for 2/3 days in the mountain trail, you would definitely need a rest day before commencing your climb above 6000m. Before heading to the Chukkung valley, your rest day at Dingboche will allow you to acclimatize you properly. Today, our guide will take you to nearby interesting hill from where you can capture the best views of the Himalayas. It is good to hike up and sleep low to acclimatize your body and let you feel physically healthy and strong enough to summit the Island Peak. 

Day 08:    Trek from Dingboche to Chhukung

Dingboche to Chukkung would be a short trek of approximately 2 hours and officially enter to  the This is short day, only approx. of hour and half walking to Chhukung Valley. Today, you will be meeting with our climbing leader who will assist you from now till Summit. Taking short brief about the climbing technique, he will also check your equipment and suggest the gears to be hire or buy that you may need for climbing. Share your queries and discuss about the climbing technique before commencing your climbing. Free time explore the Imja Valley and spend overnight at Lodge.

Day 09:    Trek from Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp

Today’s trek initially chases the uphill trail on the south then, turns east to the valley. Treading along the moraine that stretches out from Lhotse Glacier in the south you will then trek along easy streamside trail. The zigzag trail in between Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines stretches all the way to wide valley southwest to Island Peak, which is the base camp. Enjoy the glaciers created by Imja and Lhotse, take a click of Imja Tse and southwestern face of the Imja Peak.

Day 10:    Island Peak High Camp

Get ready with your camping stuff and kick off toward to the High camp from where you will start climb. As, you climb the hill, you can encounter the narrow slopes entering to a steep rock channel nearby, Sherpa will set a camp. Here,  our guide will fix crampons on your climbing boots and re-check the entire climbing group and personal equipment once again for better safety. If required, you may learn last minute climbing technique with our climbing Sherpa at this stage. If possible, you will be also taken for the ice/rock climbing nearby but subject to the availability. Overnight at High Camp.

Day 11:    Island Peak Summit & Return to Chhukung

Climbing a summit in the Himalayas means it is always a midnight start. To avoid strong Himalaya wind in the summits late afternoon, climbers do so. The ascend to Island Peak summit stretches gradually uphill for several 100 meters until it reaches the steep section. From sandy trails to grassy, the trails to the summit of Island peak also leads through rock strewn snowy section. The trail gets narrower and you will cross pass the rocky gully and then tread along the snowy ridgeline before using the ropes to get over the tricky final snout that leads to the summit. Enjoy the moments there, which are truly magical. Witness the world’s highest peaks including Everest so close and so raw, take some pictures and follow the retracing trail back to Chhukung. It will be the longest walk in your entire trail. On arriving at lodge in Chhukung, you can get relax your tired muscles.    

Day 12:    Trek from Chhukung to Namche

Today, you will retrace your journey back to Namche. Walking all the way down to Namche in the steep down following the River, crossing bridge and enjoying the route decorated with birch and rhododendron forest. Your sight will even keep on catching few Himalayan giants including Everest, Kwangde, Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserkhu. Overnight will be refreshing at Namche.

Day 13:    Trek back from Namche to Lukla

Today is the final day of the trip. You will walk following Dudh Koshi River down to Lukla. You will have a celebration with the involvement of the Guide, Sherpa and Porters as well. They will serves some local’s beer called “CHANG” and enjoy party learning some dance step from traditional Sherpas. 

Day 14 Fly to Kathmandu

You will board a plane back to Kathmandu. Arriving at Kathmandu you will be transferred to your hotel and rest of the day will be your leisure time. You can go for shopping, message, or rest at Hotel. Evening time, we invite you for farewell dinner at authentic restaurant. You can share your experience, feedback us and give us a chance to make your evening a wonderful time. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15 Departure

You will depart Kathmandu carrying lots of adventurous memories of the Island Peak Climbing of Nepal.

We have prepared the trip departure dates in small groups departure for group fun and enjoyment trekking. Our group size start from 2 peoples (Even for solo travelers, we organize single trip on supplement cost of US$- 200 additional) and maximum group size will be 8-10 travelers. But in general, our every date will have small groups of 4- 6 peoples, which is good group size for safe and flexible & comfortable trekking. Nepal Visa & Getting in to Nepal

All the foreign nationals (except Indian nationals) are required to display Visa while entering Nepal. Nepalese Visa can be obtained either at Nepalese Embassy of respective country or can be obtained during your arrival at the International Airport in Kathmandu or from the Nepal’s border entry point. However, certain nationals are requested to arrange Visa prior to arrival in Nepal. The listed countries are- Afghanistan, Iraq, Cameroon, Ghana, Somalia, Swaziland, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Liberia and cannot secure Nepalese Visa on arrival.

Requirements: Traveler should have a valid passport for at least six months, recent digital photos (size: 1.5" x 1.5") and Visa fees (either US$ or equivalent) mentioned as below:

Group Size:

For group, we normally run with minimum 2 person to maximum 10 in our published group departure program. However, there is no barrier for a private trip. We can run a trip for single person and even more than 10 in a group. Normally for a group, we provide 1 main guide, 1 assistance guide along with 1 porter for every 2 trekkers. Moreover, for every additional 2 trekkers, 1 more assistance and a porter will be provided making a team combination as follows:

Minimum to 2 PAX: 1 Guide and 1 porter
4-6 PAX: 1 guide, 1 assistance guide and 3 porter
7-10 PAX: 1 guide, 2 assistance guide and 4/5 Porter

Meals and accommodations

During your stay in Kathmandu, we accommodate you in 3 star category hotel in a comfortable and relaxing environment. Breakfast is included with room accommodation. Normally, based on your group size, you will be accommodated in twin or triple sharing basis. In case of single room stay in a group, you will require to pay single supplement charge mentioned in our trip cost. Also, if you wish to upgrade hotel accommodation, we can accommodate you in respective hotels with surcharge.

On your arrival in Kathmandu and a day before your departure for homeland, we Hiking Nepal Team will invite you for Welcome and Farewell dinner. You will be taken to an authentic restaurant serving Nepali Cuisine with some cultural Dance Show. For your other day’s meals, you can get hygienic restaurants providing verities of taste including continental, Chinese, Italian, Nepalese and many more.

Similarly, for your stay during trek, we shall accommodate you in local lodge available en-route. Normally, the rooms are basic and in a twin sharing basis. Some lodges offer shower system and hot water. For meals, you will be served sufficient hygienic food. Our service includes a full board meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Tea/Coffee) based on lodge menu. Normally, for breakfast; porridge, cereals, toast or chapattis, omelets and a range of hot drinks are served. Likewise for Lunch and Dinner; you can taste some Nepalese food (esp. rice, lentils and curry), Sherpa food, Indian food, Italian Spaghetti, noodles, potatoes, even Pizza in some areas. It is obvious that you will receive fresh and organic food in the Himalayas of Nepal. Your breakfast and dinner will be served in lodge where you stay and lunch on the way during trek.

Trip Safety; our Guide and Supporting Team

Once, you confirm your trip, it is our responsibility to make your trip wonderful without creating any difficulties. Hence, we have prepared our itinerary in such a way that it will properly acclimatize you. Also, we request you in advance to have regular exercises and make habits to walk in a daily basis. Similarly, during trek, you will be fully guided by our professional trekking guides and supporting team. They are properly trained in regards to safety and first aid. Even, we have every set up in case of emergency such as high altitude medicine and Gammow Bag (High altitude Chamber bag). Please note High altitude Chamber Bag is used to provide heat in your body and it is available on certain cost. Moreover, to let you familiar with altitude, you are suggested to walk slow and steady and ensure for proper acclimatization.

For trekking, we provide local experienced guide speaking fluent English and familiar with the local routes, landscape, flora, fauna as well as culture, and tradition of certain areas and let you feel comfortable. We do not encourage for child labor, hence, our porter will be above 16 years that are living in the Himalayas of Nepal; as well as carries only 20-22 kg weight per porter. Normally, the guide and support teams are selected with proper analyzing of their experience, leadership skills and personal aptitude. Our guides are well familiar with different societies of all caste and customs along the trail and share the insight culture with you that are not even noted in guide book.

To make our staffs more fluent and experienced, we consistently provide trainings. They have been participating in special training programs like Trekking guide training, Rock climbing, Ice climbing, Intensive Wilderness first Aid and many more that has been certified and approved by Nepal Government.

Travel Insurance:

While travelling to Nepal, you are requested to have a travel insurance that should cover any comprehensive expenses possible to acquire due to medical issues or accidents. Especially, your travel insurance must protect air ambulance, treatment charges, rescue and evacuation, product cancellation and refundable charges, flight delay and cancellations. We suggest you to bring you travel insurance certificate or send us scan copy and required to issue from your home land and we do not arrange or sell insurance.

Travelling in the Himalayas is full of adventurous; hence it is wise to choose a proper insurance policy. While choosing your insurance policy, make sure that it will protect all such unforeseen expenses. Your insurer should be well familiar with our itinerary that you have booked and must have agreed to cover all activities being undertaken during trip. Meantime, it is not compulsory that our all the assigned trip are facilities with Heli-rescue. You will not require heli rescue insurance for Tibet Tour as it is not possible to provide such facility.


It is better to follow the precaution given by World Health Organization and other international health related institutions that recommend having vaccines before travelling Nepal to prevent from certain fatal illness. If possible, we suggest you to bring your medical certificate however, it is not required to show but for safety. The recommended vaccines are polio, Diphtheria, Tetanus, typhoid, yellow fever, hepatitis A/B, Influenza (Flu), Japanese encephalitis, and Tuberculosis. Meantime, it is better to consult your professional doctor about your travel and he might recommend you properly. You can also take suggestion of local travelers who have travelled Nepal before and know more about the required precautions. Please note that the protection that can be gained from vaccines varies from 50% to almost 100%. So remember that even if you have taken a vaccine you might still get the disease, although you will have greatly reduced your chances of getting ill.

High Altitude Sickness

At the higher altitude, you will feel a decrease in availability of oxygen. If a person walk in the high altitude particularly climbs up too quickly, he might suffer from High altitude sickness. Hence, proper rest is required at that altitude. You can cure at right time knowing certain symptoms of Altitude Sickness. Common symptoms are headache, loss of appetite, tiredness and nausea, vomiting, dizziness and difficulty in sleeping. The best remedies that local belief and take is taking garlic, or ginger in mouth. Eat dry food and take liquid as much as possible. We recommend Diamox if there is no any options.

Also, we provide experienced guide and staffs in dealing with the effects of higher altitudes. As they are natives of Nepal, they easily acclimatize and therefore can care for their clients. They are equipped with necessary medical supplies and will assist with basic first aid treatment. We design our tours to ensure clients are ready for high altitude, and arrange alternative itineraries for those at risk.
