Day 01: Guided Tour of Kathmandu Valley

Firstly, you will be picked up from your hotel, then we drive to Swayanbhunath.  A Monkey Temple atop a hill overlooking Kathmandu is a popular Buddhist Stupa, where Tibetan culture spills all over. Early morning drive to Swayambhunath allows us with an opportunity to sight the beautiful sunrise view. Though the heritage site is damaged in quite a big scale, the main stupa is still intact and other small monuments in the premises are under rapid restoration process.

Next, the tour takes us to the largest Hindu Shrine of Nepal, Pashupatinath. The Temple dedicated to Supreme Hindu God; Shiva is revered Pilgrimage destination for Hindus all over the world. Greet holy saints in colorful attires and fearsome look at the temple premises and sight the Hindu cremation process at the bank of Bagmati, which is also known as Aryaghat. Then the tour continues towards Boudhanath. The largest Buddhist Stupa in the world, ringed by colorful outlets selling Tibetan products makes you feel like you are somewhere in the Tibetan territory. Circumnavigate the stupa and experience the best of Tibetan Buddhist culture in Kathmandu at Boudhnath. You could have your free time for Lunch here.

Post lunch, we take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is the complex of ancient and medieval times buildings where deities dwell in most of them. Though the Durbar Square was hit in the worst way by the quake, the place still has lot to offer. Explore around and if you are lucky, you could have a glimpse of Kumari, the Living Goddess at Kathmandu Durbar square. The day ends with the leisurely walk through Kathmandu’s oldest town, Asan, and drive to hotel. End of the tour!
